The Global Peace Project aims to highlight the recurring themes of peace, love and compassion for humanity that are common throughout the world's major religions. The project's overall goal is to promote global understanding, peace, and tolerance. Our project is in line with Goal 16 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals - ‘Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions’.
All the major religions of the world have concepts of societal and personal peace at their core. We hope that by gaining a deeper understanding of the inherently peaceful teachings of all major religions people will abstain from engaging in violence towards their fellow human beings.
We strongly believe that education plays a very significant role in developing understanding and promoting peace. In order to achieve this goal, ACET-Global is supporting the development and publication of a number of online resources and short books outlining the core tenets of several world religions. These resources have the goal of promoting harmony and understanding across all faiths and people. All these resources are made available free of charge to interested people across the globe.
Our first book in the series focuses on the fundamental teachings of Islam, and the often misinterpreted and misrepresented values of peace and respect. In highlighting the true teachings of Islam, this book will work to promote non-violence and the eradication of negative interpretations of this religion.
ACET-Global is keen to collaborate with people and organisations that have similar aims. We recognise that it's a big challenge to tackle but we also believe that every small step in the right direction will help make the world a better place.
